Dr Peter Dawson recently relocated to Wollongong after a long and rewarding career as a General Practitioner in the UK. With over two decades of medical experience, Dr Dawson brings a broad skill set, compassionate care, and a keen interest in evidence-based longevity and wellness to the Illawarra community.
Dr Dawson graduated from The University of Manchester in 2000 with a BSc and MBChB, and completed his GP training (MRCGP) in 2006. He also holds postgraduate qualifications in substance misuse, reflecting a long-standing commitment to supporting vulnerable populations.
Throughout his career, Dr Dawson has worked across a diverse range of settings—from busy urban clinics to prison healthcare—and held a GP partnership in North Wales for over a decade. His clinical interests include preventative medicine, optimising physical and mental wellbeing, and helping patients achieve healthier, longer lives through lifestyle-focused care.
Outside of medicine, Dr Dawson enjoys running, cycling, and exploring the outdoors with his partner and their mischievous cockapoo, Lola—who recently completed quarantine after emigrating from the UK.
