Dr Nirusha Karunaratne graduated from the University of Western Sydney in 2013, where she was awarded the obstetrics and gynaecology prize. She completed her internship and residency at Nepean Hospital. She has also worked as senior resident medical officer in obstetrics and gynaecology at Westmead hospital where she gained experience in antenatal care and women’s health.

Dr Nirusha has worked for the last two years as a GP in Picton and most recently Corrimal. She is also interested in paediatrics and has completed the diploma of children’s health through the University of Sydney whilst working in paediatrics at Wollongong Hospital.

Nirusha enjoys playing netball, cycling and travelling.
